<Has summer finally gotten to the members of this list?   Many of my
colleagues are struggling with formulating
best practices for the profession and there is a proliferation of
funding opportunities for conservation and
preservation of collections.  Pets -- dogs, gerbils, insects, whatever
-- are not welcome nor will they help you at
all when the panels meet to decide your grant, or when your registrar
