As has been mentioned, every state has varying laws regarding concealed
carry.

Currently, (AFAIK) the only states that do not allow concealed carry by
the general public are Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas,
and the District of Columbia. Vermont is the only state that allows people
to carry a concealed firearm with the only requirement being that you are
legally allowed to possess a firearm. All other states require some form
of application/registration process and generally issue a permit for you
to carry a concealed weapon. The above information is from
www.packing.org, probably the best place online with state-by-state
information regarding this subject. This is a non-political site, but it
is frequented by politically-minded people. Just a warning for some of you.

As for the original topic of this thread, Wyoming is a concealed carry
state. Several years ago, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center made the
policy decision to request that visitors leave their firearms in their
vehicles. The staff was already prevented from carrying and the security
guards had also stopped carrying sidearms. There was some argument from
some members of the local public, but nothing of any consequence.

To inform visitors of the policy, a sign was posted in the main entry
area. To my knowledge, this sign has not been posted in a while. However,
if I see someone in my gallery with a sidearm, concealed or otherwise, I
am going to get security and ask the individual to leave.
