Below please find job descriptions for 3 new positions at The Mary Baker
Eddy Library, Boston, MA.  The descriptions are for the following jobs:
Sales Manager, Public Relations Manager and Marketing Sales Coordinator

1)  The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity

Job Posting:  Sales Manager
As the Sales Manager, you will work with the Marketing Director to set
sales strategies and goals. You will be responsible for meeting overall
sales goals through the creation and implementation of appropriate
programs. As well, you will interact with constituents inside and outside
the Library to deliver packages pertinent to these efforts.  Responsibility
for developing advertising and collateral materials supporting overall
marketing and group sales will also be yours.  These will focus on general
admission tickets to the Library, special programs, as well as sales of
food and shop merchandise. You will coordinate and manage programs and
promotions that directly and appropriately contribute to Library
revenues.   A key responsibility of this position will be to cultivate
relationships within the tourism and hospitality industries and the
cultural, business, and academic communities, in order to realize important
marketing opportunities for the Library.  Salary Range:  Up to 50K.

Requirements:  5-10 years of marketing/sales experience in a consumer-
driven business environment, with a proven track record in meeting sales
goals.  Strong experience in sales development and execution.  Ability to
develop innovative programs that promote and fulfill goals regarding
mission and revenue. Outstanding writing, editing, research, speaking,
interpersonal and computer skills (MS Office) is required; proficiency with
databases (Access & Enterprise) is preferred.  The ideal candidate will
have experience in a cultural or other attraction-based environment
managing relationships with key groups such as hotels, local businesses,
colleges/universities, and tourism organizations.

The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity is a not-for-
profit library/museum dedicated to providing common ground to explore:
· the power of ideas throughout history to inspire individuals and
transform the world
· the ongoing search for life’s deeper meaning
· the ideas, life, and achievements of Mary Baker Eddy.

The Library was established in June 2000 by The Christian Science Board of
Directors as a nondenominational, not-for-profit educational institution
for the purpose of “furthering the universal quest for spirituality and the
science of being – and their effect on health and human progress.”
Although the Library is a separate 501(c)(3) organization, the Church has
committed to funding a portion of the Library’s activities during the first
five years of operations and also donates administrative support from
Church departments such as Accounting, Web, Information and Technology, and
Site Services.  The Library raises the rest of its operating budget from
admission and shop revenues as well as donations from individuals,
corporations, foundations, and other contributors.
· The Library features contemporary and interactive exhibits
including the well-known MappariumTM, the Quest Gallery, and the Monitor
GalleryTM.
· The Library houses the Church-owned archives of an American woman
who altered the landscape of science, religion, and medicine through her
work and writings.  The Mary Baker Eddy Library archives comprise one of
the largest collections by and about an American woman.  User-friendly
access to the collections is provided to the general public by the Research
Room staff.
· The Reference Room offers historic and contemporary context through
10,000 books, periodicals, and audiovisual materials focused on four core
themes: Spirituality and Health, the Quest for Spirituality, Women and
Leadership, and Mary Baker Eddy.

2) The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity

Job Posting:  Public Relations Manager
As the Public Relations Manager, you will be responsible for developing and
administering a public relations program designed to promote the mission of
The Mary Baker Eddy Library and to drive visits to the facility.  You will
cultivate local, regional, national, and international media through
timely, effective communication and produce press coverage that positions
the Library as a relevant and compelling resource in today’s world and as a
must-see destination.  In concert with the Marketing Director, you will
create strategy as well as execute at a tactical level. The latter will
extend to writing and proofing press materials, ads and other marketing
materials.  You will be responsible for anticipating short and long-term
communication needs of the Library and for providing strategy and tactics
for those needs. Also among your deliverables will be a platform of
interviews and speaking opportunities for Library officials, advisors, and
staff that will measurably improve the market’s understanding of the
institution, its mission, and product. At the core activity of the job will
be the research and realization of key media opportunities, coordination
between Library personnel and media outlets, development of topical
approaches/talking points and work with Library spokespeople. You will also
manage the institution’s Web site.  The role includes management of one
assistant.  Salary Range:  Up to 65K
Requirements:
Requires 10 years of Public Relations management experience in consumer-
driven, preferably visitor-based, organizations.  Must have a proven track
record of measurably elevating an organization’s overall media
relationships and resulting press coverage and contribution to an
organization’s bottom line.  The successful candidate will cite pertinent
metrics including stature of new outlets engaged, change in overall
visibility, and progress realized in placement, frequency, and depth of
stories.  The ability to show a direct tie between PR efforts and enhanced
consumer use of product will be highly preferred.  The ideal candidate will
bring a range of contacts in the field - local, regional, and national.
Outstanding writing, editing, research, speaking, and interpersonal skills
are requisite.  Experience in writing a breadth of media vehicles is a plus.

Job Posting:  Marketing Sales Coordinator
As the Marketing Sales Coordinator, you will coordinate a variety of sales
activities and provide related administrative and customer support to the
Sales Manager and Library Marketing Department.  You will support the
development of marketing to individual and group visitors including
assisting in the planning and implementation of sales strategies, as well
as advertising placement, generated to meet specific sales goals.  Duties
include: researching sales opportunities of trade shows, events, etc., as
well as media opportunities; trafficking creative projects including
elements of brochure design and production, advertisements, flyers,
postcards, and other collateral; and assisting in maintaining relationships
with key organizations such as hotels, local businesses, colleges and
universities, and tourism groups.  Salary Range: Up to 35K.

Requirements:
Requires 1-3 years of administrative support and customer service
experience, preferably in a marketing and sales environment.   Excellent
project, process management and organizational skills.  Strong computer
skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and databases, etc.) and
communication skills (oral, written, proofreading).  The ideal candidate
will be creative, resourceful, extremely flexible, and possess the ability
to move quickly from one task to another, while prioritizing work in order
to meet deadlines.  He/she must be able to successfully attend to detail
and accuracy under pressure.  Good judgment in a team setting and the
ability to take initiative are also key.
