Dear Dr. Kavanaugh,
During the research phase of our trading post, I was in contact with
Maureen Dolynuik, Manitoba CHC Archives and Dr. Katherine Pettipas,
curator of Hudson Bay Company Artifact Collection. Maureen emailed me
scanned copies of samples of stroud cloth/trade cloth dating from 1856.
I think Dr. Pettipas had some more samples of trade cloth in her
collection. You may want to contact them. Their email addresses as of
2000 were:

Listeros:
Does anyone have a good source for the dating of wool trade cloth
(stroud), particularly the introduction of the multi-colored selvedges
(not just "wide white saved edge").
Also, a dating for the introduction of colored "fluffy" feathers in
the
Indian trade?
Thanks in Advance.
Thomas W. Kavanagh, Ph.D
