John asked:

While I'm asking, could you also recommend products

When we had a carpenter ant problem here at home, the exterminator told us
that we needed to get tree braches and dense shrubs away from the house.
Branches are pruned every year so they do not give the ants a bridge to the
house.
Apparently the ants prefer to travel to the house from trees, then they
will nest in any areas of damp wood. If you have carpenter ants, keep tree
branches away from the house and resolve any moisture problems (e.g., leaks)
that create an attractive environment of damp wood. It has worked for us.
