Good morning, Museum'lers - I am very pleased with my EuroClean hip vacuum
cleaner. It is actually a Nilfisk product and is HEPA filtered (so that's a
HEPA hip vacuum, right? how groovy can you be?!). Mine is a 964H model as I
recall. You wear it attached around your waist/hip area in a wide belt
(Velcro and clip fasteners) - like an oversize obi. I love the fact that it
is not under my feet and has a 50 foot power cord. Just google Euroclean and
a variety of sources for it will pop up. Mine cost less than $400 a couple
of years ago but you need to add in the cost of all of those HEPA filters
(about $70) and micron dust bags (about $25 for 10). It is not automatically
adjustable with a rheostat like the expensive cousin, the Nilfisk GM80, but
I have been able to use my hip vac plugged in to a separate rheostat and
have modified the hose end.
