Dear Sue: The answers you get will depend largely upon whether the museum
is a public or private institution. For instance, the museum where I work
is a unit of City government. Our security personnel are city employees &
work for the department of Municipal Security, i.e., they provide security
for all city buildings/functions/events. As such, they do not report to the
Director of the museum, which creates problems at times. The security
personnel are rotated to different locations throughout the months & the
new ones do not understand museum protocol. So when we get a new face, we
have to give them a short orientation on museum standards.
Hope this helps.

Hi!
I'm doing an informal survey... If you would, please answer the following
question(s) as simply as you can. I don't want to take up a lot of
anyone's
time with this.
In which department do(es) your security officer(s) work? To whom do they
report?
thanks for your help
