Greetings,
I am curious to know if any listers are familiar with public school boards
that own and operate their own museums. I am currently on contract with
the York Region District School Board in Ontario, Canada as the Assistant
Curator for their Heritage Schoolhouse Museum and Archives. We run a
living history program for students in grade three that recreates the
experience of a student in 1900 rural Ontario, a grade eight outreach
program on the same topic, and we are the repository for artifacts and
archives about the history of the York Region Board. As we ponder a new
strategic plan for the museum, we are interested in hearing from any other
museums that are also owned and operated by a public school board.
Thank you,
Sara Fayle
