VOLUNTEERS & TOURS COORDINATOR
The Petersen Automotive Museum currently seeks an enthusiastic team player
to become an integral part of the Education Department. The mission of the
Petersen Automotive Museum Foundation's Education Department is to employ an
interdisciplinary approach in its educational programming, integrating the
study of history, art, culture, science and technology. The aim is to build
community by being an educational resource for local schools, institutions,
organizations and groups, facilitating lifelong learning, growth and a
lasting relationship between the public and the Petersen Automotive Museum.
The Volunteers & Tours Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
recruit, train and oversee Museum docents acting as the prime liaison
between the Museum staff and volunteers; maintain the policies and
procedures of volunteer programs; oversee outreach to schools and teachers;
assist in the development of the School Tours curriculum and publications;
assist in the development of education materials and projects; involved in
all aspects of the Museum so as to help ensure the Museum retains an
educational focus.
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Education, Museum Studies,
or related field; 1-2 years in a museum or informal education setting;
excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to details,
computer literate. $13.50 to start.
