Hi Jerrie,
We assign an insurance value to every artifact that we accession and our
minimum value is $20, no matter what it is.  I base this value on what we,
as a museum, invest in it to process.  This figure is based on work-study
wages, since we use work-study students to accession artifacts.  They
receive $8.00 per hour but we only pay one third of that figure.  The $20
figure is my best guestimate.
