Hi, I've got a question for everyone out there; in a staff meeting, it was
brought up that the junior staff at our museum often feel left out about
what's going on at our museum, and would like not only better communications
between senior and junior staff (and there's a huge vacuum there now), but
also, to have some input from the junior staff (mostly curators) to the
senior staff (directors).

So now we've been charged with exploring this idea. So what I'm asking of
all on this list, are there museums that essentially have a "staff senate"
or "staff council" or some representative body of staff members that can
have a voice in museum operations. We're not looking at this as a sort of
union, but more of an employee council, so we know what's going on, and we
can lend our opinions as well as our expertise in museum operations and
planning.

Please let me know if your museum has such a thing, or you've heard of such
a thing, and let me know how it's structured and how it works.

Many thanks,
