Hi Carrie,
Salaries vary tremendously based on your geographic area, size of
institution, etc. Perhaps you can give us more information on where you
are looking for jobs.
Unfortunately, your competition for jobs will include people with higher
level degrees in museum studies, etc. It would be good to first try to
get a paid internship (or unpaid, if you can afford it). An internship
will give you a "foot in the door" and could possibly lead to a full
time position.
Good luck!
Laura

Subject: starting salary
As a Senior in Art History I am beginning the always fun job search
routine. I was
wondering if there was anyone who could give me some idea of starting
salaries in
the museum industry. I will have a BA and have done a museum based
internship. I
would be interested in working with the registrar or as an assistant to
a curator. I
also have some experience with children. Any ideas?? I want to be able
to go into
interviews with some idea of what to ask for in terms of salary. Also,
if anyone knows
of any job openings that would be great as well.
Thanks, Carrie Barnett
