A Black lab of mine named Sparky, many years ago, spent his days as a "history dog" with the historic buildings trades staff of Colonial Williamsburg on the sites where they worked. He must have met and played with tens of thousands of visitors over the years. The landscape staff at Carter's Grove Plantation loved him becuase he pretty well eradicated the groundhog population that was forever plaguing the gardens there. So, you might consider a "history dog" too.
Cheers!
