Dear Listers:
I would like to share with the list some interesting information I have learned on caring for photographs that have been invaded by mold. I had recently posted an inquiry for advice concerning removing mold on a photograph in my museum's collection. Other than contacting a conservator for analysis, I received no advice from the list. I had already thought of the conservator aspect, but due to the fact that my museum has very limited funds, this was not an option. The state museum proved very helpful in locating information on mold. A good reference is available at:

This is the web page for the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts. The report is very informative, and offers suggestions for non-invasive methods for dealing with mold. I hope this information is helpful to those of you out there who might find yourselves in need of the information.
Sincerely,
Teresa Whitt, Director/Curator
