Phil: YEARS ago (in the 70s) I worked summer jobs at National
Educational Consultants (NEC), a microfilming company in Maryland, about
1 mile from the Univ. of MD main campus. We were working on census
records at the time. It was horrid work, but paid well for a kid in
college.
Check the internet to see if such a company still exists. Also,
remember that micro-film degrades too. It might be better to scan the
newspapers onto a program and burn CDs?
Good luck!

Subject: Question on Microfiche sources and something on the lighter
side
First things first. The newspapers in our collection are deteriorating
and
we would like to get these put onto microfiche before they are totally
gone.
Our Preservation Director asked me to search out any companies, people,
etc.
who can handle this request. Any ideas?
Now, on a lighter note. As I was going through our uniform inventory I
found an interesting item under the notes section. It reads: "Anonymous
donation. Found on doorstep of CAF in box w/ no markings." It forgot
to
include the note that said, "I can no longer support this coat. Please
take
it inside and give it a good home. His name is Junior."
Thanks for the help,
Phil Barnes
