Well, I just knew this list would come through with an answer! A BIG thank
you to everyone who replied to my plea for help. The verdict, as you may
have quessed, was unanimous both on and off list, and I am 100% confident
the item in question is a ballot/voting box. (which of course, makes perfect
sense to have in our collection) Thanks again to everyone who took the time
to help me out!

This was a voting box but most of us wouldn't have
known that.
