For those of you who just can't wait, American Originals is currently
showing in San Antonio's Witte Museum. It runs until 1 September, when I
suppose it trots off to LA. The Emancipation Proclamation will be
included next Thursday through Saturday, as a part of the Juneteenth
celebration. In addition the Witte has mounted Texas Originals, an
exhibit that includes some Texas documents along with other artifacts
dealing with three Texas symbols--the Alamo, cattle, and oil, and a major
display commemorating the civil rights struggle in San Antonio 50 years
ago.
Happy trails. David
