Good Afternoon Brian,
In response to your question about management agreements between government
and a not-for-profit organization........
The City of Memphis's Division of Park Services (city government) and
Memphis Museums, Inc. (a not-for-profit Tennessee corporation with 501-c-3
status with the Federal Government) have had a management agreement
(contract)since the early 1990s to operate the Pink Palace Museum and
Mansion, Union Planters IMAX Theater, Sharpe Planetarium, Lichterman Nature
Center, Mallory-Neely House, Magevney House, and the Coon Creek Science
Center (all d.b.a as the Pink Palace Family of Museums) Total annual
city/mmi budgets over $7 million and last year 519,000 total visitors.
This contract establishes the relationship between the two parties. It is
a rather complicated relationship, but nevertheless.....it works. Please
feel free to give me a telephone call.
Best Wishes,
Wesley S. Creel
