Education Coordinator
Historic St. Mary’s City, a living history museum commemorating Maryland’s
first capital (1634-1695), is seeking a full-time Education Coordinator to
provide on-site and outreach educational programs for a variety of
audiences, ages, and learning styles, including 30,000 students and
teachers annually. Responsibilities include development, implementation,
and evaluation of quality education programs, and hiring, training, and
supervision of 20-25 paid and volunteer staff. The position works closely
with schools, colleges, and professional organizations to establish
partnerships for teacher training and student outreach. Candidates should
be motivated, organized, able to multi-task, and committed to educating a
diverse audience. The successful candidate will have as many of the
following as possible: knowledge of educational theory and school
curricula; experience in museum education and/or classroom teaching;
experience in program development and staff training; a degree in
education, museum studies, or history; and knowledge of the use of
information technology as an educational tool. Salaried position with
