Educator/Collections Manager
The Stone House Foundation seeks an Educator/Collections Manager.
Located in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, SHF promotes the history and
culture of Stephens City and Frederick County. SHF owns seven historic
structures and a diverse material objects collection. The successful
candidate will assist the Executive Director in achieving the museum’s
mission, goals, and programs.
Position requires individual with experience planning, developing, and
executing a wide range of educational programs for various audiences,
including interpretive exhibits. Individual should have experience in
managing diverse collections including proper handling, storage, and
exhibition needs. Computer literacy required.
Individual must be comfortable working in a collaborative and team-based
environment. Must have strong interest in collaborative ventures,
audience development, and interpretation. This is an exciting
opportunity for program and collections development at a growing
institution.
Position requires a minimum of a BA in history, museum studies,
education, or a related field. MA preferred. Two-three years’ experience
in a history museum environment that involved educational programming,
collections management, and object handling. Competitive salary
($27,000-34,000) plus benefits. By January 31, 2003, send resume,
