A lot depends on what you NEED the person to do! While there are some
"generic" job descriptions for development staff, they are just
that--generic--and not at all necessarily applicable to your organization.
What is the past fundraising history of the org? Planning a campaign? Is
this position a replacement, or the first time a development person has
been hired? Do you envision this person being primarily internal or
external in focus? Does membership come under development, or is there a
separate marketing function? Will the development officer have other
staff, or is she a one-person operation?
If you forward me more specs, I can probably pull a reasonable sample for
you.
