Our institutional has been digitizing select components of its artifact and
archival collection since 1994 and storing the results on PCDS. Images have
traditionally been made available to users in JPEG format. We will soon
reach the 10 year preservation mark for some of this material and are being
advised to transfer our data either directly to an image server in JPEG
format with cd/tape back ups or to new cds or just to tape. What are the
preferred options? The perceived trends? Any comments on the use of tape?
Thank You in advance for your comments.
Sincerely
Patricia Davis-Perkins
