I have used benzotriazole in darkroom work. I mixed it up as a 10% solution and used it to modify print developers. It's used as a restrianer to
hold back the development of a print and also to modify the tones, but it's also the cure for salvaging out dated paper (fogged). It's sold
commercially by several companies (like Calumet/Zone VI) as a liquid concentrate and is sometimes called Liquid Orthazite....this probably
doesn't answer your question, but hope it helps.
