General Information and Call for Papers
ICTOP is happy to announce the annual conference of ICTOP in Shanghai
from the 8th till the 10th November 2010. Our host will be Prof. LU
Jiansong, Professor for Cultural Heritage and Museology at the Fudan
University of Shanghai. He will be assisted by Ms. ZHENG Yi.
The ICTOP conference is embedded in the program of the General
Conference. For the first and the last days of the General Conference
please see the announcements on the ICOM website.
The conference program will show you the structure of the meeting and I
invite you all to participate. Please see below.
This time we have chosen a broader topic to give ICTOP the opportunity
to bring together all the new ideas and projects which have come up
during the last three years. We also want to invite new ICTOP members or
those who are interested in ICTOP to take an active part.
ICTOP, the committee which is regarded as one of the oldest in the ICOM
family,
wants to share new experiences among colleagues from all over the world.
With so much international professional development activity and a
quickly evolving scene, , our annual meetings provide the best
opportunities to be apprised of new activities, approaches and ideas .
Such an exchange is of course the basis for the future of ICTOP.
We shall start our meeting with four prominent museum people who are
very much dedicated to training. We asked Prof. LU Jiansong, Shanghai,
and Prof. LI Jun, Director of Cultural Heritage Department of the
Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, Ms. Deirdre Prins-Solani,
Director of Centre for Heritage Development in Africa, Mombasa, Kenya
and President of AFRICOM, and Prof. Mário de Souza Chagas, Professor at
the UniRio and member of the Museum Institute in Brazil (IBRAM). The
titles of their presentations are not yet fixed. All speakers of the
Opening Session have been asked to provide the audience with an English
and a Chinese version of their texts.
The conference language will be English.
For the Opening Session only a consecutive translation will be provided.
We will have presentations (10 minutes) on two days (9th and 10th
November) to give enough time for discussion.
We can offer space during a special time slot for poster presentations
on 10th November.
Papers which you wish to be published on the ICTOP website should be no
longer than 5 pages and should be full text (no power point presentation!).
To give our organiser a better overview you are asked to fill out a
Special Sheet (attached).
All information is very important for the organisers.
Please send the Special Sheet to: [log in to unmask] and to
[log in to unmask] (Ms. ZHANG Yi)
We have to ask you for some extra fees for a Boat Trip and the
Conference Dinner, which you shouldn't miss. As soon as possible we
shall send you details about the costs and how to pay the extra fees.
