Although not a "museum" you cannot miss the Osaka Aquarium, with a
wonderful collection of marine life found in the Sea of Japan. The world's
largest whale shark is well impressive. I do not reccommned Osaka's major
attraction Osaka-jo (Osaka Castle), since in true Japanese style this
building has been renovated and modernized to include an elevator of all
things! There is a much beloved and imprssive castle called Himeiji about
an hour and a half from Osaka which is Japan's finest and I truly reccommend
it. While Osaka is fabulous, don't gloss over Tokyo for museums. There are
a treasure trove of oddities there. Have fun and I hope you enjoy the
teaching expereince as much as I did.

Dear Agnieszka and Listers,
Two national museums are located in proximity to each other in the Senri
Expo Park, Suita, Osaka. Both are international visitors friendly and sure
worth visiting. They can be accessed by monorail from either the Osaka
International Airport or the downtown Osaka City.
