Okay, commonly called a "clinker" brick? We see that in two houses that I
have worked with.
The DeWint House in Tappan, NY c. 1700 laying out the date on the front of
the house and
The Gomez Mill House, Marlboro, NY, used around the top of the windows and
as a heart and diamond design on the side of the house on the 1772 portion.
