Manager of Historical Sites/Museum Director –City of Nacogdoches, Texas
(Pop 30,000) Nacogdoches has a rich historical background dating back to
the establishment of Spanish Missions in 1721-22. Manager/Director plans,
directs and reviews the activities, operations, and restoration of the
Sterne-Hoya Museum, Union Pacific Depot, Durst-Taylor House, and other
historic facilities acquired and operated by the City of Nacogdoches.
Knowledge of or ability to comprehend principles of collection development
and management, historic preservation, historical research, and museum
administration. Masters degree in Museum Studies or Historical
Preservation with 2-4 years museum experience preferred; or, Museum
certificate and Bachelor’s degree in either museum studies, history,
preservation, anthropology or related field and 2-5 years experience in
museum or historic site management. Annual Salary $33,314/$34,250 after
