Hi listers
Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is entering the third year of its diversity
initiative and we're looking for sources of small grants or other funding to
help us.
Using our operating budget we have worked with a local planning firm to
* conduct employee focus groups
* identify issues and develop our strategic plan
* conduct regular diversity awareness sessions with staff.
The response has been great and we have an active internal team that is
reviewing our internal processes, celebrates diversity at a number of
functions and communicates regularly with staff via a newsleter.
We would like to begin more intensive work with our managers and supervisors
and set up logitudinal evaluation program but we are at the limit of our
internal resources.
We've heard there may be federal or state monies available for this or
specific foundations that support diversity inititatives. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance and we'd be happy to share our experiences with others
contemplating a diversity initiative..
