Greetings List Members,
The archive that I work at is currently developing a grant proposal for digitizing a substantial part of our object collection (approx. 3,000 objects) and making it available online for searching via our website. I know that many museums have been doing projects like this in the past few years and I was wondering if there is an established formula for calculating the rough cost per record. We will need to take digital photographs of the objects and possibly do some cataloging before developing our website. I would be interested in seeing budgets for any museums who have recently undertaken similar projects and would be willing to share.
Thanks,
Catherine Dean
