Good morning! I am preparing an outline for our upcoming activity, "The
Mayans Moved THAT?!", which explores how the Mayans were able to construct
their magnificient buildings and monuments without the use of a wheel,
horse, etc. In particular, we will look at the pyramid, El Castillo, at
Chichen Itza. Usually- I am able to find whatever information I need via
the Internet- but not this time! I would like to know the height, width,
length, and estimated weight of the stones used at El Castillo and what the
current theories are in regards to how it was built. All searches that I
have done have yet to provide what I thought was pretty basic information.
If anyone would have this information ( and be willing to share!) or could
suggest what web sites or other sources I may consult- I would be very
appreciative! ( and it would save me flying down there with my retractable
tape measure!!)
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Lisa Riopell
