Hi all,
I have a planetarium conference in Worcester in early May and was thinking
about flying up to Newfoundland beforehand to take a mini-vacation. What are
you recommendations on what to see up there and where to stay? I'll most likely
be flying from Boston to St. John's (also the title of a great song by Great
Big Sea btw :) unless anyone knows of another route. I assume driving would
take way too long and I didn't think there was a train route. The dates I'd be
there would be around 3 May to 7-8 May.
I'm interested in just about everything - obviously astronomy/science as I work
at the National Air and Space Museum - and I'm particularily fond of Vikings
and boats. Will the Viking museum be open the first weekend in May to make it
worth the trip out there?
And I MUST see the puffins - well if they will be around that is. I collect the
little buggers and have never seen them in the wild.
Thanks in advance!!
Deb
