I've been checking the web site to see if there is a listing of staff and
then addressing it either to the person mentioned or the person supervising
the position, if I can figure it out. Something I picked up in an business
course I took somewhere is to leave off the salutation altogether. You head
up your letter something like this:
Search Committee
XYZ Museum
Street
City
Re: Position Name
body of letter
Having a name is always preferable, but so far no one has been offended by
the alternate format (that I am aware of).
