Shana,

The types of education programs and their costs are going to be impacted by a number of things including is there a separate space to do programs? Are you thinking of doing some or all programs in the gallery(ies)? Can you accomodate a hands-on component to the programs? Are you interested in showing films related to your collection and if so do you have the equipment on hand or need to rent it & who will run it?

There are lots of different ways to do programming based on the budget available and if you're charging for all, some or none of the programs; going for sponsorhsip, grants or other forms of underwriting for the all or some of programs; what you're paying artists and others to put on programs, and so forth are all things to consider as you build your starting budget. Are you focusing on programs for adults, children, families, schools or a mix of the above?

Off the top of my head those are some of the beginning issues for you to think about.
