Hi all,
If you are in the Baltimore/DC area this weekend, please come out and help
support a local historic house on Saturday. Poplar Hill on His Lordship's
Kindness dates back to around 1785 and has a fledgling historic house program.
This weekend will be an 1812 Royal Marine and sailor encampment on the grounds
as well as house tours and exhibition of the carriage collection of 16 historic
carriages dating back to the early 1800s.
Info is on their website at: http://www.poplarhillonhlk.com/
Also they need volunteers. This would be a great place for museum studies
students to do an intership or class project. They've got a ton of restoration
to do as well as loads of archival material that is just waiting to be
researched.
If people need more information, feel free to contact me. If you do come,
please say hello. I'll probably be the only chick in the encampment.
Thanks!
Deb Fuller
