While we are not quite "there" at the Mitchell Museum (all data, no images
yet), when I used FMPro at the Field Museum we (like John) used a link to a
URL for images which were on a separate server.   The beauty of FMPro is
that the calculated fields allow you to standardize a whole range of
inconsistencies -- at the Field we used it to insert leading zeros in the
catalogue number field so they would sort properly.
