Good Day,
I'm a mature (35) BSc Multimedia student with more then a passing interest
in history and Museums.
I'm currently conducting a research study to investigate the effectiveness
of Multimedia within museums, both as a learning tool and to enhance
visitor experience. I would interested in making remote contact with any
curators and museum personnel who have employed Multimedia displays within
their museum (i.e. touch screens, kiosks, computer centers) so I may ask
them a few simple questions.
Please note this isn't a randomly selected project. I have considerable
personal interest in this area and am aiming to author exclusively for
museum clients in the future. My research so far has revealed that there is
a considerable shortfall in providing museum targeted presentations that
wholly meet the expectations of both staff and visitors. I have been
shocked so far to find that, with the exception of very few, Multimedia has
not been routinely adopted. Therefore I would also like to hear from any
museums who have consciously decided not to incorporate any form of
Multimedia displays to enhance their exhibits so I may further explore the
reasons.
If it is not deemed appropriate to conduct communications of this type via
the discussion list then please contact me via e-mail - [log in to unmask]
Kindest Regards
