This challenging position offers an opportunity to have a substantial impact
on the public image of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum.
Job Duties <javascript:openHelp(>: Under the general supervision of the
Museum Director, this position develops, coordinates and parovides support
for the varied media, public relations, and development of electronic or web
site communications strategies at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum in Madison.
The position is responsible for media relations, marketing, advertising,
coordination of special events, foundation support and development and
assisting with other activities for the Veterans Museum.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities <javascript:openHelp(>: Excellent oral
presentation skills; ability to write effective, persuasive copy for
development letter campaigns, brochures and other materials; competence with
various computer software programs, including word-processing, database,
e-mail, spreadsheet, web page and desktop publishing; knowledge of marketing
principles, public relations principles and fund-raising principles and
activities. Very well qualified candidates will have non-profit experience
and some knowledge of tax regulations and reporting requirements.

and experience in the following areas: (A) MARKETING MATERIALS. Describe
your experience developing marketing materials. Please be specific as to
which part(s) of the development you were involved in (e.g., writing, target
selection, etc.); the types of materials you developed (e.g., brochures,
letter campaigns, space ads, etc.). Please be specific as to the nature of
the organization for which you developed these materials and the audience to
whom they were directed. (B) PUBLIC RELATIONS. Describe your experience
writing/producing or presenting informational material for an organization.
Please be specific as to the nature of the involved organization(s); the
types of material; the nature of the target audience and whether it was an
existing network or one you developed. (C) SPECIAL EVENTS. Describe your
experience planning, organizing or coordinating special events. Include the
type of event involved, the tasks you carried out, any involvement with
volunteer staff you may have had and whether you have tracked results from
such an event. If you have, please describe what kind of data was gathered,
how it was gathered, and how it was reported. (D) FUND MANAGEMENT SUPPORT.
Please describe your experience supporting the management of grant money or
an endowed fund. Be specific as to your role, the tasks you performed and
