Greetings,
Here at Redcliffe Plantation we used UV filtering Lexan panels in our transom windows. Some of the glass panes are old and I have heard very mixed reviews of using a film directly on 'historic' glass. The panels are cut to the size of the window glass and mounted on the inside with 'flexi-points'. The points are attached via a 'gun' and are, as the name suggests, flexible. That way when we have our annual Lady Bug invasion we simply bend the points inward, remove the panels, vacuum up the bugs, and replace the panels without having to shoot new points into the window frame.
Cheers,
Fielding Freed
