Kate,
We do a Boy Scout program that lets the boys earn a merit badge in about 4
1/2 hours. This involves quite a bit of discussion time as well as a tour
of our historic house and museum. We charge $10/ boy for 5-10 boys, over 10
and we drop it to $9 with a max of 20 (we can't fit anymore) No matter how
many boys come, be it 5 or 20, we comp 4 adults. Each additional adult is
admitted at our regular admission price of $5. So far we have only had to
charge for one extra adult. The girl scouts on the other hand seem to bring
more adults than girls...but that's not my program, so I can't really
comment on it. We feel that the regular admission price is reasonable
because they still get to take our tour and visit the small museum as if
they were a person who walked in off of the street. We also encourage extra
parents to go check out the local sites and eateries and come back in a few
hours. Many don't have a problem with this because they don't want to sit
for 4 1/2 hours while the Scouts discuss history.
I hope this information was of some use to you.
