A snowy day like this is a great day to stay in the city. However, when the
snow stops - the roads are cleared here as the snow hits the ground - visit
just outside the city. The jewel of a historic house in the Hudson Valley
(that should get the other historic site landlords answering your request)
is the Gomez Mill House, about an hour north of the GW Bridge in Marlboro,
NY. Visit at www.gomez.org. On the way, stop at West Point, some of the
wineries, and some of the "larger" Hudson Valley historic homes. This is the
time of year that we do the 3 R's of research, restoration and repairs so
call before coming up.
And, there is plenty of good food and drink in the area. In fact, this is
the best time of year to take the director and the director of education out
to lunch. (In keeping with local tradition, we'll go "Dutch.") Come visit
New York!!
