The National Museum of Racing seeks applicants for the full-time position
of Curator of Education. Primary responsibilities include developing,
implementing, and evaluating programming for all ages, in accordance with
the museum’s mission and goals; working with the curatorial team to develop
interactives and interpretive programming for exhibitions; assisting the
development department in identifying funding opportunities and in grant
writing; and supervising teaching staff and volunteers. The Curator of
Education reports to the Director and jointly manages the Museum Services
department with two other curators. Preferred qualifications include a
master’s degree in museum education, history, or art history and a minimum
of three years experience in museum education. Successful candidates will
have excellent organization and communication skills and enthusiasm for
working in a team environment. The National Museum of Racing celebrates the
history and culture of Thoroughbred racing and is located in a thriving
small town in the foothills of the Adirondacks, three hours north of New
York City. Salary is commensurate with experience ($32,000-47,000), plus
