Our Numismatic Collection has traditionally been ordered according to the country where the coins were minted (in most cases). A doit coin, minted in the Netherlands and used in one of the colonies would be classified and stored under the Netherlands.
My questions are: 1. Is this normal amongst Numismatic collectors / collections?
2. In the light of modern tendencies amohgst commercial mints, does this still make sense? The South Africa Mint Co, for example, produces money for about 30 other countries. It it does not seem sensible to classify a coin minted in South Africa, for
Botswana eg., under South Africa.
Thanks in advance for help / comments
