Hi Emma -
Try the Lower East Side Tenement Museum (did I get that title right?). It's a great place. They have living history programs portraying people in their tenement displays from different periods. You should be able to find them on the net.

Subject: Living Museums
Hello everyone,
I am currently working one day a week with children
at the Ragged School Museum in London as a Victorian
Teacher and I am really enjoying it. As I will be
moving to NYC in the New Year, I was wondering if
anyone knows of any museums in the NY area that have
similar activities, (it doesn't have to be Victorian
Teachers).
Many thanks,
Emma B
