Thanks in advance to the list...
I just received a call from a local museum asking how to treat/deal with a
large donation of b&w photographs which had been stored in a (wet, yep wet)
storm cellar. The tintypes and older items in an album are basically gone
due to water damage, but there is a large set of photos by a notable western
photographer (these are probably original prints since his niece was donor)
which are moldy, curled and dirty...have any of you dealt successfully with
such a project...cleaning, and flattening?...I can provide some reference
materials and printed ideas, but haven't actually had the pleasure (?) of
dealing with such a collection.
They are looking for something they can to with volunteer help in house,
with basically little or no funding for the project...ideas?
