....talk about micromanagement! Don't the folks in charge have better
things to do than regulate what an employee puts on one's desk?

I have a policy question. At the museum I work at, while there is no written
policy towards times of national crisis, some people at the museum have put
a small flag on their desk, or, say, for instance, in the cafe, wrote "God
Bless America" on the whiteboard at the bottom of the menu selection. The
management has categorically ordered the staff to take down any traces of a
response to the current events happening in our nation. Some employees are
upset. I myself am upset that no official stand has been taken, but I am at
war in own head as to weather or not I have a right to be. Please, give me
lots of differing opinions so I can start seeing things from different
perspectives and put this to rest in my head,
Thanks,
MJ
