Currently, our collections storage area shares a wall with the docent lounge. Part of the wall is a large glass panel, which is partially covered by filing cabinets. The docents watch the registration staff prepare for exhibits and catalog items. On more than one occasion I have drawn a crowd of docents while unpacking crates and working with unusual items.
The only draw backs/stress I feel is that some times they knock on the glass when I am working or shout, because they want to know what I am doing. A distraction when I am working on something that really requires concentration. Also, I must admit I feel self conscious at times. For example, if I am having a bad day, there are, at times, 20 people that can watch me have a bad day.
