Registrar Position
The San Diego Historical Society seeks a detail-oriented professional for
the position Registrar. Responsibilities include maintaining collections
records; handling loan agreements, deeds of gift, and exhibition contracts;
producing condition reports; rights and reproduction services; maintaining
loan, conservation, exhibition, insurance, and location records; and
supervising the internal and external movement of collections..
Additionally, the registrar is responsible for contracting outside services
including conservation, packing, crating, shipping, and insurance. The
registrar will assist in the installation and maintenance of exhibitions
and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include a B.A. in museum studies or a related field with
three or more years of registration experience preferred. Also, strong
organizational skills and attention to detail are a must. Candidate needs
to possess an ability to work with diverse range of people within the
