Sara,

Well the most recent technology is Amtrak's use of the Acela Trains (Bombadier makes them). It
uses a leaning car to make it around corners. (Might contribute to an exhibit on centrifigual
force.) I know that in Pennsylvania (Department of Transportation?) they were working on a
magnetic train from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. It seemed like a good idea.

Really there isn't much innovation in long haul trains. What has really been happening is
consolidation, reduction, and the increase of touist trains. What I might check out is if there
are any innovations in Europe.

Good luck. By the way, LOVE your museum. You need to have more images of the routunda paintings
online. Great stuff.
