You are invited to attend a Professional Development Seminar presented by
the
Institute for Learning Innovation on September 20, 2001 at the Maryland Hall
for
the Creative Arts, 801 Chase Street, Annapolis, Maryland. Seminars are
offered
at no charge and are held from 4:30 - 5:30 followed by a wine and cheese
reception. The topic of this seminar will be:
"Do free-choice learning institutions change visitors' attitudes and
behavior?
How? and How do we know?"
Dr. Leslie M. Adelman and Dr. Marianna Adams, Senior Associates, Institute
for
Learning Innovation, will discuss a model for behavioral change which
provides a
framework for understanding and investigating changes in visitors' attitudes
and
behaviors. They will highlight several recent longitudinal studies,
conducted in
a variety of free-choice settings, that provide evidence of change, with
focus
on assessing the nature and magnitude of change, as well as the implications
for
program/exhibition development.
