Good luck with the grants. But please, let's get rid of this notion that
grant-writers get paid from the grants. THEY DON'T!!! That's a
violation of the Code of Ethics
of the American Fundraising Professionals (formerly, NSFRE). Donors like
to know exactly how their money is being spent. They don't want to pay for
overhead when they think it is going for a project. Grant-writers and other
fundraising professionals
either get salaries (like all professionals) from earned income, endowment
interest that is specifically designated for personnel, or from angels (rich
people) who understand the importance of having a development professional on
staff and will pay for it.
